One Step Closer To Getting On TV…
Many of you already know that I auditioned to be a financial expert for the W Network. I was driving to work one day and Fiona called me to tell me that she heard on the radio that the W Network was holding an open call for people to submit a two minute video explaining why they should be the network’s next expert host (on whatever they were an expert on). I decided, “what the heck” and recruited my friend Andy to help me create an audition video. Well, of the 400 people who sent in a video I was selected as part of the Top 20 Semi-Finalists (thanks to everyone who voted and left comments!).
The Next Challenge Is Complete!
The next stage in the challenge was to be assigned a surprise task by the W Network and to have it filmed by one of their crews. My task was to walk around with a sandwich board that read “Free $$$ Advice” in a parking lot and try to get people to ask me questions (and to try and answer them). It certainly was a challenge as the trick was to answer in a way that pure lay-people would appreciate, and to do it without skipping a beat. If I had time to think about my answers, they certainly would’ve been different, but all things considered it went very well and I think the challenge was designed more to see how I would be on-camera.
Round Two Of Voting
Unfortunately, the second video was posted in mid-December and I didn’t get around to promoting it in time for you to all see it – the second round of voting has ended! The final winners will be announced on January 9th. Wish me luck!

Congratulations on making it this far. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to see the video. The link in your post takes me to the W Network site, but all I get is a black rectangle where the video should be.

Did I miss the chance to view it? The link didn’t work for me, and when I tried to get to it manually, it told me that viewing is closed. Good luck, anyway. I’m sure you did great. I remember enjoying the first video.

@ Michael James – I had the same thing happen when trying to view from work, but it worked from home. Moot point now as apparently the voting is over (my own fault as the video has been up since mid-December, I just didn’t get around to promoting it).
