The heuristic of your age being your allocation to fixed income is blunt, but probably pretty good for many people. But I would say that more accurate would be to say that your FI allocation should be based on your risk tolerance. I&#039;ve met some pretty aggressive octagenarians and some pretty nervous thirty-somethings.</description>
